About Dr Louise Segan

Dr Louise Segan is a consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist at the Alfred Hospital. She is also undertaking a PhD in cardiac electrophysiology at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute and the University of Melbourne, under the guidance of Professor Peter Kistler, Professor Jon Kalman, and Associate Professor Sandeep Prabhu.

Her research, supported by NHMRC and Heart Foundation scholarships, focuses on improving outcomes for patients with atrial fibrillation and heart failure. Dr Segan has a strong interest in helping patients understand the role of lifestyle modification in heart rhythm health and works closely to support long-term wellbeing.
