About Dr Louise Segan

Dr Louise Segan is a consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist at the Alfred Hospital, with a focus on heart rhythm disorders, particularly atrial fibrillation (AF). She combines clinical expertise with ongoing research to provide care that is both evidence-based and tailored to each patient’s needs.

Dr Segan completed her cardiology training at leading Australian institutions and holds appointments at the Alfred Hospital. She is currently undertaking a PhD in cardiac electrophysiology at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute and the University of Melbourne under the supervision of Professor Peter Kistler, Professor Jon Kalman, and Associate Professor Sandeep Prabhu.

Her work is supported by NHMRC and Heart Foundation scholarships and focuses on optimising outcomes for patients with AF and heart failure. She has contributed to numerous publications and presentations in the field of cardiac electrophysiology.
